FRC Action is dedicated to preserving and advancing the interests of family, faith and freedom in the political arena, the release states. Pearce has a 98-percent rating from the group.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cCongressman Steve Pearce has shown himself to be a loyal friend of the family,\u201d David Nammo, executive director of FRC Action, said in a news release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cThe Family Research Council is one of the most respected pro-family organizations in the nation and I am truly honored to have their unqualified support,\u201d Pearce said. \u201cI believe the most important asset we have in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> is a strong family, and organizations that understand this, like the Family Research Council, are speaking up in favor of my candidacy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SCIntxFQGVI\/AAAAAAAAFq8\/xYNJeyHJAlc\/s1600-h\/Wilson,+Heather.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SCIntxFQGVI\/AAAAAAAAFq8\/xYNJeyHJAlc\/s200\/Wilson,+Heather.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5197760587161934162\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Meanwhile, <st1:city st=\"on\">Wilson<\/st1:city> picked up the endorsements of <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=242&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Jeannette Wallace<\/a>, R-<st1:place st=\"on\">Los Alamos<\/st1:place>, San Juan County Commission Chairman Tony Atkinson and Curry County Commissioner Tim Ashley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI have known Heather Wilson for many years and I am proud to support her in this race for U.S. Senate,\u201d Wallace said in a release from the campaign. \u201cThe (recent) debate (in Los Alamos) showed that she is more well aware of, and tuned in to, the needs of northern New <st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> and, in particular, the labs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Wilson<\/st1:city> said she is \u201cvery happy\u201d to have Wallace\u2019s support, saying the state representative understands the challenges <st1:place st=\"on\">Los Alamos<\/st1:place> faces in dealing with federal-budget issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Atkinson, in a news release, said his decision came after <st1:city st=\"on\">Wilson<\/st1:city> supported a recent bill seeking to protect millions of dollars in funding for <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>\u2019s rural hospitals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cHeather Wilson convinced me that she is working with, and will continue to work with, <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New   Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> counties on important issues like this one,\u201d Atkinson said. \u201c\u2026 She understands how important this funding is for the people who rely on our hospital for care and she\u2019s willing to fight to do what is right. I wholeheartedly offer her my support in this campaign for U.S. Senate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Ashley called <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Wilson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> the \u201cbest choice\u201d in the race.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cHeather Wilson is the only Republican candidate running for Senate who voted against BRAC\u2019s recommendation to mothball Cannon Air Force Base, and that was the right thing to do\u201d Ashley said in a release from the campaign. \u201cI\u2019ve talked with Congresswoman Wilson about this and I know she understands how vital Cannon is to our military, our national security and our local economy.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three elected officials from around New Mexico have endorsed Heather Wilson in the GOP U.S. Senate primary in recent days, while her opponent, Steve Pearce, picked up today the backing of a high-profile national organization.
