{"id":3168,"date":"2008-05-01T10:36:00","date_gmt":"2008-05-01T16:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/05\/former-state-gop-chairman-endorses-tinsley-in-cd2\/"},"modified":"2008-05-01T10:36:00","modified_gmt":"2008-05-01T16:36:00","slug":"former-state-gop-chairman-endorses-tinsley-in-cd2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/05\/former-state-gop-chairman-endorses-tinsley-in-cd2\/","title":{"rendered":"Former state GOP chairman endorses Tinsley in CD2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SBnxxMkvq_I\/AAAAAAAAFoM\/ETTplDMj0vw\/s1600-h\/Tinsley,+Ed.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SBnxxMkvq_I\/AAAAAAAAFoM\/ETTplDMj0vw\/s200\/Tinsley,+Ed.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5195449472639806450\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>John Lattauzio, former state chairman of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gopnm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Republican Party of New Mexico<\/a>, formally announced today his endorsement of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edtinsleyforcongress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ed Tinsley<\/a> in the 2nd Congressional District Republican primary.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">As I reported <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2008\/03\/republican-cd2-race-gets-ugly.html\">in March<\/a>, Lattauzio has been actively campaigning for Tinsley since at least February, but I have generally been writing about endorsements in the 2nd District race when campaigns make them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cNo good Republican can be trusted to represent <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> in the future if they have turned their back on our party in the past. Ed Tinsley not only possesses a great knowledge of the district and exemplary business acumen, but he has always remained a dedicated member of our party through thick and thin,\u201d Lattauzio said in a news release from the Tinsley campaign. \u201cWhen Ed takes a position on issues of critical importance to southern New Mexicans, from securing our borders and cutting taxes to controlling spending and standing firm on pro-life and family issues, we know he can be trusted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Lattauzio said the GOP winner is going to face \u201ca well-funded and battle-tested Democrat\u201d in November, and \u201cit is critical that we have a conservative Republican who has the stamina to win and who will be steadfast in his loyalty to the party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Tinsley said Lattauzio\u2019s dedication to the GOP is \u201cunparalleled, and I am honored to have him as a supporter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cOur party has fielded a strong set of candidates to vie for this nomination, and I am very happy to have John as a friend and member of Team Tinsley,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John Lattauzio, former state chairman of the Republican Party of New Mexico, formally announced today his endorsement of Ed Tinsley in the 2nd Congressional District Republican primary.
