The money that was left was largely the result of a $300,000 loan Dunn gave his campaign during the fourth quarter of 2007.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The news release said 83 percent of Dunn\u2019s contributions came from New Mexicans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI believe one of the problems with our government today is that too many politicians are used to spending other people\u2019s money instead of their own. That\u2019s why my wife Robin and I made the decision to invest $300,000 of our own nest egg to ensure Southern New Mexicans continue to have a conservative voice in Congress,\u201d Dunn said in the release. \u201cWe made a conscious choice to only ask people for their prayers and their votes going into the Republican preprimary convention, and we\u2019ve been humbled by the outpouring of financial support from everyday New Mexicans since our convention victory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Dunn <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2008\/03\/dunn-wins-tinsley-greer-also-qualify.html\">won the preprimary<\/a> convention on March 15 and was leading in the Republican primary in <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2008\/04\/poll-puts-dunn-ahead-in-republican-cd2.html\">a poll<\/a> his campaign recently released \u2013 the only polling of the race released publicly to date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Dunn has raised $410,143 to date \u2013 including the $300,000 he loaned his campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">No other Second Congressional District candidate has released first-quarter fundraising information.
