{"id":3062,"date":"2008-04-03T08:19:00","date_gmt":"2008-04-03T14:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/04\/communication-workers-union-backs-teague\/"},"modified":"2008-04-03T08:19:00","modified_gmt":"2008-04-03T14:19:00","slug":"communication-workers-union-backs-teague","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/04\/communication-workers-union-backs-teague\/","title":{"rendered":"Communication workers&#8217; union backs Teague"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R_Tn64V6MjI\/AAAAAAAAFZg\/R7mh4l3k9j4\/s1600-h\/Teague,+Harry.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R_Tn64V6MjI\/AAAAAAAAFZg\/R7mh4l3k9j4\/s200\/Teague,+Harry.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5185024069752992306\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cwa-nm.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Mexico Communication Workers of America<\/a> has announced its endorsement of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harryteagueforcongress08.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Harry Teague<\/a> in the Second Congressional District race.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Though the union\u2019s leadership voted unanimously on Feb. 1 to endorse Teague, the decision wasn\u2019t announced until Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cOur New Mexico CWA Locals want to thank you for your energy and commitment to working families in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New   Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>,\u201d the union stated in a letter to the Teague campaign. \u201cWe wholeheartedly look forward to your firm support of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aflcio.org\/joinaunion\/voiceatwork\/efca\/\" target=\"_blank\">Employee Free Choice Act<\/a> and ongoing efforts to improve access to health care. <st1:state st=\"on\">New  Mexico<\/st1:state> deserves a congressman who has the courage to do what\u2019s right, and who has the integrity and experience we can trust to support working families in New <st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Teague, a Democrat, said he was \u201chonored to have received the support of this outstanding group of hardworking New Mexicans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cThe CWA works tirelessly at fighting on behalf of its members, and I look forward to working with them to improve the lives of working families all across <st1:place st=\"on\">Southern New Mexico<\/st1:place>,\u201d he said in the release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I cover the CD2 race more intimately than the state\u2019s other congressional races, and I generally haven\u2019t written about endorsements in the others, but I thought it was worth noting that CWA has also endorsed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.martinheinrich.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Martin Heinrich<\/a> in the First Congressional District race and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.benrlujan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ben R.
