Earl Greer<\/a> in the Second Congressional District race.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cEarl Greer has the grit, guts and gumption to do the kind of results-oriented job that New Mexicans have grown to expect from their Washington representatives in the likes of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Joe_Skeen\" target=\"_blank\">Joe Skeen<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/pearce.house.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Steve Pearce<\/a>, and Senator <a href=\"http:\/\/domenici.senate.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pete Domenici<\/a>,\u201d Foreman said in a news release from the Greer campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">He called Greer an \u201cexperienced, honest, hard-working, dependable leader\u201d who will do <st1:state st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:state> and <st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">America<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> \u201ca great service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Greer, also a Republican, said he was \u201cflattered\u201d by the endorsement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cHis previous experience in the U.S. House of Representatives has given him a unique viewpoint in this election, and he feels that I am the best qualified of all the candidates in this election,\u201d Greer said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Foreman, a prominent motivational speaker who now lives in <st1:state st=\"on\">Texas<\/st1:state>, was born in Portales and attended <st1:placename st=\"on\">Eastern<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">University<\/st1:placetype> and <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">State<\/st1:placetype>  <st1:placetype st=\"on\">University<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:place>. He served in the Navy and was president of several businesses before getting into politics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">He was elected to serve a <st1:state st=\"on\">Texas<\/st1:state> congressional district that includes <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">El   Paso<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> in 1962 and served a single term before being defeated. In 1968, he won a single term in Congress representing <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>\u2019s southern district before being defeated in 1970 by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Harold_Runnels\" target=\"_blank\">Harold Runnels<\/a>.<a name=\"Republican_congressman_from_Texas.2C_196\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former U.S. Rep.
