{"id":3032,"date":"2008-03-27T10:54:00","date_gmt":"2008-03-27T16:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/03\/rnc-to-hold-chairmens-meeting-in-n-m-next-week\/"},"modified":"2008-03-27T10:54:00","modified_gmt":"2008-03-27T16:54:00","slug":"rnc-to-hold-chairmens-meeting-in-n-m-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/03\/rnc-to-hold-chairmens-meeting-in-n-m-next-week\/","title":{"rendered":"RNC to hold chairmen&#8217;s meeting in N.M. next week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rnc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Republican National Committee<\/a> will hold its 2008 state chairmen\u2019s meeting next week in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>, and speakers will include <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnmccain.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">John McCain\u2019s<\/a> presidential campaign manager.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The meeting will be held Tuesday through Friday at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tamaya.hyatt.com\/hyatt\/hotels\/index.jsp\" target=\"_blank\">Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort<\/a> at the Santa Ana Pueblo near Bernalillo. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cNew Mexico will be an important state for Republicans to carry this year, and one in which John McCain\u2019s message of smaller and less intrusive government, lower taxes and a strong national defense has obvious appeal,\u201d RNC spokeswoman Liz Mair said in explaining why the RNC picked New Mexico for its meeting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">A 1 p.m. session on Thursday will include speakers <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mike_Duncan\" target=\"_blank\">Robert M. \u201cMike\u201d Duncan<\/a>, the RNC chairman, and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carly_Fiorina\" target=\"_blank\">Carly Fiorina<\/a>, the RNC Victory chairwoman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On Friday at noon, the speaker during the chairmen\u2019s luncheon will be Rick Davis, McCain\u2019s campaign manager.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I\u2019ll be interviewing <st1:city st=\"on\">Duncan<\/st1:city> about the importance of <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> to the GOP strategy on Tuesday.
