The Republican National Committee<\/a> will hold its 2008 state chairmen\u2019s meeting next week in New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>, and speakers will include John McCain\u2019s<\/a> presidential campaign manager.<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The meeting will be held Tuesday through Friday at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort<\/a> at the Santa Ana Pueblo near Bernalillo. <\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

\u201cNew Mexico will be an important state for Republicans to carry this year, and one in which John McCain\u2019s message of smaller and less intrusive government, lower taxes and a strong national defense has obvious appeal,\u201d RNC spokeswoman Liz Mair said in explaining why the RNC picked New Mexico for its meeting.<\/p>\n

A 1 p.m. session on Thursday will include speakers Robert M. \u201cMike\u201d Duncan<\/a>, the RNC chairman, and Carly Fiorina<\/a>, the RNC Victory chairwoman.<\/p>\n

On Friday at noon, the speaker during the chairmen\u2019s luncheon will be Rick Davis, McCain\u2019s campaign manager.<\/p>\n

State GOP Chairman Allen Weh said the party is honored to host Republican officials from throughout the nation next week.<\/p>\n
