Carraro failed to qualify to appear on the ballot in June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Update, 3:55 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">White, in a news release, said he is \u201chumbled by this tremendous show of support from his party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cThese results show that my message about cleaning up the mess in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Washington<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> is resonating with the grassroots,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The news release also pointed out that \u201cno candidate has ever gone on to win a primary after failing to meet the 20 percent threshold at the party\u2019s convention.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Darren White won the support of 85 percent of delegates in today\u2019s First Congressional District Republican preprimary contest.
