Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ltgovernor.state.nm.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Diane Denish<\/a> will travel to <st1:state st=\"on\">Wyoming<\/st1:state> this weekend to campaign for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hillaryclinton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hillary Clinton<\/a>, and may also travel to <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:state st=\"on\">Texas<\/st1:state><\/st1:place> to campaign there.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Denish\u2019s <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Wyoming<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> visit comes in advance of the Democrats\u2019 March 8 caucus in that state. She will promote <st1:city st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:City> at a dinner on Saturday and, at a Sunday breakfast, will \u201chelp educate <st1:state st=\"on\">Wyoming<\/st1:State> voters on the caucus process,\u201d according to a news release from the <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI am so excited to be on the trail for Hillary Clinton this weekend in <st1:state st=\"on\">Wyoming<\/st1:state>,\u201d Denish said in a news release from the <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> campaign. \u201cHillary Clinton is the candidate I want as our commander in chief \u2013 and she is the only one with the strength, experience and record to begin tackling the serious issues that face our country from day one in office.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R8iXW2Oj3xI\/AAAAAAAAFH4\/PjNhB4iH02I\/s1600-h\/Clinton,+Hillary.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R8iXW2Oj3xI\/AAAAAAAAFH4\/PjNhB4iH02I\/s200\/Clinton,+Hillary.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172550590804516626\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Denish told me in an interview on Thursday that she may also travel to <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Texas<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> before Tuesday\u2019s vote there, but plans have not been finalized.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Denish is a superdelegate to the party\u2019s August convention because of her role in the Democratic lieutenant governor\u2019s association. She said there is \u201cno question the momentum is with Barack Obama\u201d heading into the <st1:state st=\"on\">Texas<\/st1:state> and <st1:state st=\"on\">Ohio<\/st1:state> votes on Tuesday, but said she \u201cwouldn\u2019t write off Hillary\u201d and expects <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Texas<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> to be close.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Denish, who endorsed <st1:city st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:city> before <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:state st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:state><\/st1:place>\u2019s Feb. 5 caucus, also said she doesn\u2019t envision a scenario in which she would pledge her support to Obama unless the two candidates come to some sort of agreement before or at the convention.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/governor.state.nm.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Richardson<\/a> is one of the most sought-after superdelegates in the nation who hasn\u2019t endorsed a candidate. He\u2019s repeatedly kept himself in the spotlight by saying he might endorse and then not doing it. Denish said <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> is \u201cplaying it really smart,\u201d and said the race is close enough that it\u2019s likely there won\u2019t be a clear winner going into the convention.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI think he has a role in brokering the final deal,\u201d Denish said of <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>. \u201cI think his negotiating skills could come into play.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Denish added that <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> would give up such an opportunity if he endorsed before the convention, and said he may be holding out on an endorsement because he understands that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lt.
