The United States first received intelligence about the compound in August, and last week, Obama authorized a strike.<\/p>\n<p>Bin Laden was killed during a firefight, and the United States has possession of his body, Obama said.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Update, 10:15 p.m.<\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/notes\/george-w-bush\/statement-by-president-george-w-bush\/219390698087905\" target=\"_blank\">a statement<\/a> from former President George W.
