Various caucuses and lawmakers are scheduled to be talking to the media about the end of the session.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/governor.state.nm.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Richardson<\/a> has called a news conference for 1 p.m. The big question is whether he\u2019ll call a special session and, if so, when it will be held. <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> had said he would call a special session if the Senate didn\u2019t approve his health-care bill before noon today \u2013 which it did not do.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Unfortunately, I\u2019m not in <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Santa Fe<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>, but I\u2019ll report on what\u2019s happening as soon as I get information.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">My bet: <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> will make good on his promise and call a special session. And he has 20 days before he has to act on capital outlay, so I\u2019d bet on a special session starting almost immediately, so the threat of capital-outlay vetoes is hanging over senators\u2019 heads while they consider his health-care bill.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2008 legislative session has ended.
