Meanwhile, mayors <a href=\"http:\/\/www.santafenm.gov\/index.asp?NID=66\" target=\"_blank\">David Coss<\/a> of Santa Fe, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityofespanola.org\/mayor-biography.html\" target=\"_blank\">Joe Maestas<\/a> of Espa\u00f1ola, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lasvegasnm.gov\/mayorsanchez.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Henry Sanchez<\/a> of Las Vegas, Bobby Duran of Taos, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.portalesnm.org\/government\/mayor-message.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">Orlando Ortega<\/a> of Portales and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.socorronm.gov\/city_government\/mayor.asp\" target=\"_blank\">Ravi Bhasker<\/a> of Socorro endorsed Clinton during a conference call with reporters today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R5-8aF9XKyI\/AAAAAAAAErc\/-jhWS3s5tmc\/s1600-h\/Obama,+Barack.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R5-8aF9XKyI\/AAAAAAAAErc\/-jhWS3s5tmc\/s200\/Obama,+Barack.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5161050854452046626\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Though <st1:city st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:city> arguably has more high-profile <st1:state st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:state> endorsements, Obama has a greater number of endorsements from public officials, including the backing of 10 elected officials from <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place>, the second-most-populous county in the state. <st1:city st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:city> has the endorsements, at this point, of no one from <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Miyagishima, focusing on electability, said during today\u2019s news conference that Obama is a uniter who can bring together Democrats, Republicans and independents to change <st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">America<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cSen. Obama can compete and win anywhere, can reach across party lines for the betterment of all Americans,\u201d Miyagishima said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R5-8VF9XKxI\/AAAAAAAAErU\/9Fadsy0NneE\/s1600-h\/Clinton,+Hillary.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R5-8VF9XKxI\/AAAAAAAAErU\/9Fadsy0NneE\/s200\/Clinton,+Hillary.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5161050768552700690\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Coss said during the conference call that <st1:city st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:city> has visited <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Santa Fe<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> many times.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe know of her commitment to our issues that mayors face, and I\u2019m pleased to be endorsing her today,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Maestas, who worked in Bill Clinton\u2019s administration, said Hillary Clinton brings \u201creal change with real experience,\u201d and said the nation can\u2019t put its trust in Obama, \u201ca freshman senator,\u201d to get \u201con-the-job training in such uncertain times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Sanchez agreed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cShe stands for everything we want. She has substance. She\u2019s been there. She\u2019s dealt with all the problems,\u201d he said of <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:city><\/st1:place>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:130%;\">A push for Obama in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">As for officials from Do\u00f1a Ana County, Miyagishima and Segura were joined today in endorsing Obama by Las Cruces City Councilors <a href=\"http:\/\/las-cruces.org\/council\/district1.shtm\" target=\"_blank\">Miguel Silva<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.las-cruces.org\/council\/district4.shtm\" target=\"_blank\">Nathan Small<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.las-cruces.org\/council\/district6.shtm\" target=\"_blank\">Sharon Thomas<\/a>; Do\u00f1a Ana County Commissioner <a href=\"http:\/\/www.donaanacounty.org\/commissioners\/district2\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dolores Salda\u00f1a-Caviness<\/a>; and state Reps. <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=323&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Nate Cote<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=321&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Jeff Steinborn<\/a> of Las Cruces and <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=316&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Joni Gutierrez<\/a> of Mesilla. Obama was also endorsed by several elected officials from <st1:city st=\"on\">El Paso<\/st1:city> who plan to campaign for Obama in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cHe is someone who brings folks together. It\u2019s not important if they\u2019re a Republican or Democrat or independent,\u201d Small said. \u201c\u2026 That\u2019s really where we have to move \u2013 building instead of breaking down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:state st=\"on\">Texas<\/st1:state> state Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.normachavez.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Norma Chavez<\/a> of <st1:city st=\"on\">El  Paso<\/st1:city>, after endorsing Obama, led the crowd of about 50 people in attendance at the <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Las Cruces<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> news conference in an enthusiastic chant of \u201cS\u00ed se puede (Yes we can)!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cThe troops in <st1:city st=\"on\">El Paso<\/st1:city> are going to be forming and organizing this weekend to help you get out the vote in <st1:place st=\"on\">Southern New Mexico<\/st1:place>,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:130%;\">Other endorsements<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In a news release, the <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> campaign also announced the endorsement of N.M. Secretary of State <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sos.state.nm.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mary Herrera<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI am proud to endorse Hillary Clinton because she has dedicated her life to listening to people and creating real change,\u201d Herrera said. \u201cAs president, Hillary will continue to listen to the voices of working Americans. I trust Hillary to help jumpstart our economy and make a positive difference in people\u2019s lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> also secured the endorsement today of the former president of the Navajo Nation, Peterson Zah, who called the senator \u201ca leader who has the experience to turn this country around.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The Obama campaign announced a host of new endorsements that include former Gov. Jerry Apodaca, state Sens. <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=309&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Gerald Ortiz y Pino<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=259&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Dede Feldman<\/a> of Albuquerque and <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=304&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">John Grubesic<\/a> of Santa Fe, state Reps. <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=181&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Gail Chasey<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=226&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Daniel Silva<\/a> of Albuquerque, state Insurance Commissioner Mo Chavez, former Indian Affairs Secretary Benny Shendo Jr., Deputy Cultural Affairs Secretary Troy Fernandez, Santa Fe Public Schools Board of Education member Angelica Ruiz, former state Sen. Leonard Tsosie, former Sandia Pueblo Gov. Stuart Paisano, Laguna Pueblo Lt. Gov. Rich Luarkie and former state Rep.
