The bill has been assigned to the <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/committeedetail.asp?CommCode=HVEC\" target=\"_blank\">Voters and Elections Committee<\/a> and must also pass the <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/committeedetail.asp?CommCode=HAFC\" target=\"_blank\">Appropriations and Finance Committee<\/a> before it can head to the House floor for a vote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R59mxV9XKuI\/AAAAAAAAEq8\/NETwLP0nxJY\/s1600-h\/Chasey,+Gail.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R59mxV9XKuI\/AAAAAAAAEq8\/NETwLP0nxJY\/s200\/Chasey,+Gail.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5160956695884016354\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Progressives and ethics-reform proponents are lobbying hard for this bill, which was not originally included on the list of ethics-reform proposals legislative leaders would allow consideration on during the current session. Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/governor.state.nm.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Richardson<\/a> has approved the consideration of the expansion of the public financing system during the 30-day session that\u2019s underway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The state already has a voluntary public financing system for the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and Public Regulation Commission.
