{"id":2774,"date":"2008-01-23T14:14:00","date_gmt":"2008-01-23T20:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/01\/krahling-will-seek-to-replace-evans-on-commission\/"},"modified":"2008-01-23T14:14:00","modified_gmt":"2008-01-23T20:14:00","slug":"krahling-will-seek-to-replace-evans-on-commission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/01\/krahling-will-seek-to-replace-evans-on-commission\/","title":{"rendered":"Krahling will seek to replace Evans on commission"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R5egNl9XKNI\/AAAAAAAAEm0\/zI95z_yQ8_I\/s1600-h\/Krahling,+Scott.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R5egNl9XKNI\/AAAAAAAAEm0\/zI95z_yQ8_I\/s200\/Krahling,+Scott.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5158768053564418258\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placetype st=\"on\">State<\/st1:placetype> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">University<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:place> alum and long-time county resident <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottforcommissioner.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Scott Krahling<\/a> announced today that he will seek to replace <a href=\"http:\/\/www.donaanacounty.org\/commissioners\/district4\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kent Evans<\/a> as the District 4 representative on the Do\u00f1a Ana County Board of Commissioners.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cThis county is facing incredible amounts of growth, and we need leaders who will be proactive and work with all parties when making decisions that affect the future of our residents,\u201d Krahling said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In order to address the needs of a growing community, Krahling, a Democrat, said he will push for a comprehensive plan for the future that attracts new jobs, meets the county\u2019s security needs and protects the environment. He said he will seek to \u201caddress infrastructure needs and add new amenities like parks and walking paths.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Krahling said he will also work to ensure that all interested people can participate in their government, saying that\u2019s important to ensure that the area \u201cremains the kind of community our kids will be proud to call home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">No other Democrats have announced their intention to run for the seat, which is open because Evans has served two terms and cannot run again. Two Republicans \u2013 Doyle Pruitt and Anna Mae Evans, who is Kent Evans\u2019 wife \u2013 have announced their candidacies for the seat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">While attending NMSU, Krahling said, he decided he wanted to make <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place> his permanent home. Krahling and his wife, Robin, recently had their first daughter, and he said that is his motivation for seeking the county office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWhen Kaitlin was born, I realized that this community needed someone in office who could bring people together to create a brighter future for all of <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place>,\u201d he said. \u201cI want my daughter to have more and better opportunities than I did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Since graduating from NMSU in 2001, Krahling helped start a local real-estate publication and has worked at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalsolutionslc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Digital Solutions<\/a>, where he helps businesses with on-line marketing.
