In those last, painful months, she was more worried about paying her medical bills than getting well,\u201d Obama says in the ad. \u201cI hear stories like hers every day.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\">\u201cFor 20 years, <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Washington<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> has talked about health-care reform and reformed nothing,\u201d he says. \u201cI\u2019ve got a plan to cut costs and cover everyone, but unless we stop the bickering and the lobbyists, we\u2019ll be in the same place 20 years from now.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\">Obama National Campaign Manager David Plouffe, speaking today in a conference call with New Mexico reporters, wouldn\u2019t say how long the ad will run or reveal the size of the media buy, but he said it will run in the Albuquerque media market and on cable television statewide, including in Do\u00f1a Ana County, the only corner of the state not included in the Albuquerque market.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\">The ad buy may also be expanded to include the <st1:city st=\"on\">El Paso<\/st1:city> market, which reaches <st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placename>, and the <st1:city st=\"on\">Amarillo<\/st1:city> market, which reaches <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Curry<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placetype st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:place>, he said.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hillaryclinton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hillary Clinton\u2019s<\/a> campaign has not responded to an inquiry about whether it plans to run television ads in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: black;\"><span style=\"font-size:130%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\u2018A deep presence\u2019<\/span><\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <span style=\"color:black;\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span>  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\">The Obama campaign opened its first office in <st1:state st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:state> on Jan. 9 \u2013 the day before Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.richardsonforpresident.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Richardson<\/a> dropped out of the presidential race \u2013 and has since opened a second office in <st1:city st=\"on\">Las Cruces<\/st1:city> and sent a number of staffers to <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>. Plouffe said a third office will open in <st1:city st=\"on\">Santa Fe<\/st1:city> next week, and he said the campaign has already recruited several hundred volunteers in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\">One of them, a <st1:placetype st=\"on\">University<\/st1:placetype> of <st1:placename st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:placename> student who campaigned for Obama in <st1:state st=\"on\">Iowa<\/st1:state>, showed up at a Democratic Party meeting in <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Roswell<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> on Thursday to give a speech about Obama\u2019s candidacy.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\">\u201cThe example you cited from last night is something that\u2019s happening across the state,\u201d Plouffe said when I told him about the UNM student. \u201c\u2026\u201cWhen Gov. Richardson withdrew from the race, we really that day began organizing and we opened up offices. We\u2019re fortunate to have a lot of intense support. \u2026 So we are really able to have a deep presence in a state like <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:state st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:state><\/st1:place>.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\">The <st1:city st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:city> campaign has, to this point, taken a different approach in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>. She doesn\u2019t have as strong a ground organization in the state, though her campaign says it will open an office in <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Albuquerque<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> in the coming days. <st1:city st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:city> has, however, secured some big-name <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> endorsements.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:black;\">And the <st1:city st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:city> campaign has promised that the senator will visit <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> before Feb. 5. Plouffe did not make the same promise about Obama, saying the schedule hasn\u2019t been set beyond the <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:state st=\"on\">South Carolina<\/st1:state><\/st1:place> primary on Jan. 26.
