The forum will be held at 7 p.m. at the <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Willie<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placename st=\"on\">Estrada<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Memorial<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placename st=\"on\">Civic<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">Center<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:place>, <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=q&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;time=&amp;date=&amp;ttype=&amp;q=800+E.+1st+Street,+alamogordo&amp;sll=37.0625,-95.677068&amp;sspn=37.136668,62.050781&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=32.890669,-105.952942&amp;spn=0.009622,0.015149&amp;z=16&amp;iwloc=addr&amp;om=1\" target=\"_blank\">800 E. 1st Street<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Tinling said she did not know whether former state Sen. Tom Benavides, who is also running as a Republican for the Senate seat, will be invited or attend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R5EK3cTQ9MI\/AAAAAAAAEjs\/ahlGhy4uHDI\/s1600-h\/Pearce,+Steve.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R5EK3cTQ9MI\/AAAAAAAAEjs\/ahlGhy4uHDI\/s200\/Pearce,+Steve.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5156914995922007234\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>She said the two-hour forum will include five questions from the party and five questions submitted by people in attendance. <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Wilson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> is generally regarded as a skilled debater, while Pearce\u2019s abilities are less tested. The forum will be held on Pearce\u2019s turf in the Second Congressional District.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The county party also plans to hold its second forum for GOP candidates for Pearce\u2019s House seat on March 4 at 7 p.m., also at the civic center in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Alamogordo<\/st1:city><\/st1:place>. All seven announced candidates have confirmed their attendance, Tinling said. The party held its first forum for the congressional candidates <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/12\/forum-reveals-wide-open-race-for-gop-in.html\">in December<\/a>, but three of the seven did not attend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The GOP congressional candidates are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imbackingbob.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bob Cornelius<\/a>, a former Bernalillo County GOP executive director; <a href=\"http:\/\/aubreydunn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Aubrey L. Dunn Jr.<\/a>, a rancher and retired banker; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earlgreer.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">C. Earl Greer<\/a>, the Sierra County GOP chair; Terry Marquardt, a former state representative; Monty Newman, the Hobbs mayor; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shortbaldhonest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Greg Sowards<\/a>, the owner of several Las Cruces daycare centers; and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edtinsleyforcongress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ed Tinsley<\/a>, a restaurant-chain owner and rancher.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Republican Party of Otero County is the first to schedule a forum for U.S. Reps.
