{"id":27488,"date":"2011-03-19T08:38:14","date_gmt":"2011-03-19T14:38:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=27488"},"modified":"2011-03-19T08:38:16","modified_gmt":"2011-03-19T14:38:16","slug":"bill-expanding-governmental-conduct-act-on-guv%e2%80%99s-desk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2011\/03\/bill-expanding-governmental-conduct-act-on-guv%e2%80%99s-desk\/","title":{"rendered":"Bill expanding Governmental Conduct Act on guv\u2019s desk"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_8838\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 120px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8838\" title=\"Eichenberg, Tim\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Eichenberg-Tim.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tim Eichenberg<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Certain lawmakers and the attorney general have been working for years to try to pass a bill that would apply the provisions in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sos.state.nm.us\/pdf\/GCA2009.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Governmental Conduct Act<\/a> to local government officials.<\/p>\n<p>The bill has finally made it to the desk of the governor.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/lcs\/_session.aspx?Chamber=S&amp;LegType=B&amp;LegNo=432&amp;year=11\" target=\"_blank\">Senate Bill 432<\/a>, sponsored by Sen. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/lcs\/legdetails.aspx?SPONCODE=SEICH\" target=\"_blank\">Tim Eichenberg<\/a>, D-Albuquerque, would expand the law governing the ethical conduct of public officials to include those from cities, counties and other local governments.
