{"id":27472,"date":"2011-03-18T23:09:59","date_gmt":"2011-03-19T05:09:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=27472"},"modified":"2011-03-18T23:10:03","modified_gmt":"2011-03-19T05:10:03","slug":"driver%e2%80%99s-license-bill-goes-to-conference-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2011\/03\/driver%e2%80%99s-license-bill-goes-to-conference-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"Driver\u2019s license bill goes to conference committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_25658\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 270px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25658 \" title=\"Roundhouse\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Roundhouse.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"203\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Roundhouse in Santa Fe (Photo by Heath Haussamen)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The House and Senate both refused this evening to accept the other chamber\u2019s version of a controversial bill dealing with driver\u2019s licenses for undocumented immigrants, so a conference committee will try to work out the differences.<\/p>\n<p>The House-approved version of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/lcs\/_session.aspx?Chamber=H&amp;LegType=B&amp;LegNo=78&amp;year=11\" target=\"_blank\">House Bill 78<\/a>, sponsored by Rep.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/lcs\/legdetails.aspx?SPONCODE=HNUNE\" target=\"_blank\">Andy Nu\u00f1ez<\/a>, DTS-Hatch, would repeal a law that allows undocumented immigrants to obtain driver\u2019s licenses.
