{"id":2704,"date":"2008-01-08T02:48:00","date_gmt":"2008-01-08T08:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/01\/guv-has-at-least-one-vote-in-new-hampshire\/"},"modified":"2008-01-08T02:48:00","modified_gmt":"2008-01-08T08:48:00","slug":"guv-has-at-least-one-vote-in-new-hampshire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/01\/guv-has-at-least-one-vote-in-new-hampshire\/","title":{"rendered":"Guv has at least one vote in New Hampshire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R4M5L8TQ8EI\/AAAAAAAAEao\/dZtbCnyGXIs\/s1600-h\/Richardsonforpresident.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R4M5L8TQ8EI\/AAAAAAAAEao\/dZtbCnyGXIs\/s200\/Richardsonforpresident.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5153025275970252866\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>For months, Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.richardsonforpresident.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Richardson<\/a> has been in fourth place in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Hampshire<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> polls, and two small communities whose residents voted in presidential primaries shortly after midnight place him in that position as voting in the rest of the state begins this morning.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">With residents of the hamlet of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dixville_Notch\" target=\"_blank\">Dixville Notch<\/a> and town of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hart%27s_Location%2C_New_Hampshire\" target=\"_blank\">Hart\u2019s Location<\/a> casting votes already, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Barack Obama<\/a> is leading with 16 votes to three votes apiece for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hillaryclinton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hillary Clinton<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnedwards.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">John Edwards<\/a>. <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> has one vote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Obviously, that\u2019s not a significant enough sample to give any clues about what\u2019s going to happen today. Polls open at 4 <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">a.m.<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">Mountain<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:place> Standard Time in most of the rest of the state, and the last polls close at 6 p.m. MST. We\u2019ll start seeing results at about 5 p.m. <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> time or shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The story is Obama. He\u2019s surged since Thursday\u2019s Iowa Caucus from being several points behind <st1:city st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:city> in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Hampshire<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> to being several points ahead. Eleven new polls released Monday have Obama anywhere between one and 13 points ahead of <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>, and the average is a 7.7-percent lead for Obama, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/epolls\/2008\/president\/nh\/new_hampshire_democratic_primary-194.html\" target=\"_blank\">Real Clear Politics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>\u2019s average in the polls is a barely significant 5.9 percent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The governor did make news on Monday for lashing out at the <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> campaign. Asked again on FOX News if he made a deal with Obama in <st1:state st=\"on\">Iowa<\/st1:state> that helped the senator win, <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> said there was no deal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cYou know, and it\u2019s a lot of the <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> people that are putting this out and I really resent it. It\u2019s wrong,\u201d he said. \u201cI believe very strongly that this was a big vote for Obama because he brought a lot of new people in. That\u2019s why he won and those people should stop trying to get scapegoats.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">You can watch the video by clicking <a href=\"http:\/\/gatewaypundit.blogspot.com\/2008\/01\/bill-richardson-blasts-clintons-stop.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Regardless of what <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> says, the Albuquerque Journal has found even more evidence that there was a deal between the governor and Obama. You can read about it by clicking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abqjournal.com\/news\/state\/275647nm01-08-08.htm\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">So the <st1:city st=\"on\">Clintons<\/st1:city> are apparently mad at <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>, and he\u2019s upset with them. It appears the fallout from this situation has yet to work itself out for the governor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In the meantime, Obama appears likely to win <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Hampshire<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> tonight. On the Republican side, it\u2019s a tossup between <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnmccain.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">John McCain<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mittromney.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mitt Romney<\/a> in the polls.
