Forming an exploratory committee is the first step in a possible run.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this time I am not a candidate for office. I am testing the waters,\u201d Arnold-Jones said. \u201cThe two biggest things that must be tested are whether or not we can raise the financial resources necessary and how much support can be generated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Arnold-Jones said the possibility of Heinrich, a Democrat, vacating the seat to run for U.S. Senate \u201cdefinitely helped lead to the formation of this exploratory committee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former state lawmaker gave up her state House seat last year to run for governor, but she lost in the primary.<\/p>\n<p>She has considered running for the 1st Congressional District seat before. In 2008, she tried to raise enough money to launch a congressional campaign <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/12\/arnold-jones-will-seek-re-election-not-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\">but was unsuccessful<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Arnold-Jones is currently a regular contributor to the talk radio program <a href=\"http:\/\/newsnm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">News New Mexico<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With U.S. Rep.
