In recent weeks, <st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city>\u2019s support in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Iowa<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> polls has fallen and Biden\u2019s has climbed, and the two are now statistically tied.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R30ZbMTQ7lI\/AAAAAAAAEWw\/kBykMfxMxDM\/s1600-h\/Edwards,+John.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R30ZbMTQ7lI\/AAAAAAAAEWw\/kBykMfxMxDM\/s200\/Edwards,+John.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5151301503730904658\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Madrid predicted that the caucus will come down to which frontrunner \u2013 Edwards, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hillaryclinton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hillary Clinton<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Barack Obama<\/a> \u2013 gets more support in the second round of voting from supporters of second-tier candidates who failed to reach the 15-percent threshold of viability in the first round. She claimed that Edwards is the top second choice of <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Iowa<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> caucus goers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cEdwards and Hillary and Barack are so close that you have to look at what\u2019s going to happen with the second vote,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:state st=\"on\">Madrid<\/st1:state> has had some up-close and personal time with Edwards while in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Des Moines<\/st1:city><\/st1:place>. She saw him and his wife Elizabeth at a party on New Year\u2019s Eve and again the next day at a meeting with steelworker union members.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Then on Wednesday night <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Madrid<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> was backstage with Edwards, his wife and singer <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.mellencamp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">John Mellencamp<\/a> during a free concert the rock star put on for Edwards. More than 3,000 people attended, she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Madrid<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> said campaigning has been \u201crough.\u201d It\u2019s freezing \u2013 sometimes below zero \u2013 and candidates and their supporters are working through fatigue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cEverybody is so exhausted,\u201d she said. \u201cI have such admiration for all the candidates, including Bill Richardson. It is so exhausting, what we put them through, and it\u2019s so cold there.
