Martin Heinrich<\/p><\/div>\n<p>U.S. Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/heinrich.house.gov\">Martin Heinrich<\/a>, D-N.M., says he will \u201cactively consider\u201d running for the Senate seat being vacated next year by <a href=\"http:\/\/bingaman.senate.gov\">Jeff Bingaman<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince the announcement Friday by my friend and mentor, Senator Jeff Bingaman, that he would not seek a sixth term in the U.S. Senate, many constituents and friends across New Mexico have asked if I will run for his seat,\u201d Heinrich said in a news release. \u201cI have not yet made a decision, but together with my wife Julie, I plan to actively consider running.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJeff Bingaman and I share a passionate concern for this great state and its people, and my decision will be based on whether I believe I can best serve New Mexico in the House or in the Senate,\u201d Heinrich said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. Rep.
