According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-score.info\/\" target=\"_blank\">The SCORE<\/a>, if he\u2019s successful \u2013 he\u2019s currently considered the frontrunner in a three-person race \u2013 he\u2019ll have to resign from his legislative seat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Papponi is associate director of a program that oversees three organizations responsible for accrediting high schools and colleges. She has served as superintendent for the <st1:placename st=\"on\">Jemez<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">Valley<\/st1:placetype> and Carrizozo public schools and is a former principal of <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ruidoso<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">Middle School<\/st1:placetype> and assistant principal of <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Los<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Alamitos<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placetype st=\"on\">Middle School<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:place> in Grants. She is also a former teacher.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cImproving education is a lifelong passion of mine. I look forward to writing and passing legislation in support of teachers and legislation that will better equip <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New   Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> children with the knowledge they need to lead prosperous, ethical lives,\u201d Papponi said in a news release. \u201cI am committed to lowering the heavy tax burden currently faced by New Mexicans, encouraging business creation and job growth in the Rio Rancho area, as well as strengthening the ethical fabric of our state government. I believe that politics is the art of the possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Papponi is a graduate of <st1:placename st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">State<\/st1:placetype> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">University<\/st1:placetype> and the <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placetype st=\"on\">University<\/st1:placetype>  of <st1:placename st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place>, and is married to Gabriel Papponi.
