Those who are interested in participating can RSVP by clicking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnedwards.com\/ballot\/newmexico\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cDuring this call, we will talk about our \u2018Road Trip to One America\u2019 strategy, which is helping to match volunteers with important key early states, and we\u2019ll also discuss our plan for victory in the <st1:state st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:state> caucuses on February 5,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Medina<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Edwards is the first of the major Democratic presidential candidates \u2013 including Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.richardsonforpresident.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Richardson<\/a> \u2013 to inform supporters via e-mail that he is beginning to organize for the New Mexico Caucus. As reported today by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abqjournal.com\/news\/state\/267350nm12-06-07.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Albuquerque Journal<\/a>, New Mexico\u2019s presidential caucus isn\u2019t getting the same attention during this election cycle that it received in 2004 because a number of other states have caught on to the idea of moving up their caucus and primary dates to have more influence in the nominating process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> is focusing all his attention on <st1:state st=\"on\">Iowa<\/st1:state> and <st1:state st=\"on\">New  Hampshire<\/st1:state> and, to a lesser extend, <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Nevada<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:state st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:state><\/st1:place>\u2019s Republicans aren\u2019t expected to have much say at all in their party\u2019s presidential nominating process. Unlike the state\u2019s Democrats, the GOP opted against moving up its caucus, so the state\u2019s Republicans won\u2019t vote for their presidential nominee until June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Republicans in about half the nation\u2019s states are voting for their nominee on or before Feb. 5, so the nomination will likely be finalized on that day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With less than two months until New Mexico Democrats will pick their nominee for president on Feb. 5, John Edwards is beginning to mobilize his supporters in the Land of Enchantment.
