{"id":2560,"date":"2007-11-26T16:36:00","date_gmt":"2007-11-26T22:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/11\/wilson-to-stop-in-las-cruces-on-tuesday\/"},"modified":"2007-11-26T16:36:00","modified_gmt":"2007-11-26T22:36:00","slug":"wilson-to-stop-in-las-cruces-on-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/11\/wilson-to-stop-in-las-cruces-on-tuesday\/","title":{"rendered":"Wilson to stop in Las Cruces on Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R0tKszgtiBI\/AAAAAAAAED4\/fBpouG03-QY\/s1600-h\/Wilson,+Heather.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/R0tKszgtiBI\/AAAAAAAAED4\/fBpouG03-QY\/s200\/Wilson,+Heather.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5137281933548292114\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>U.S. Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heatherforsenate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Heather Wilson<\/a> is kicking off her Senate campaign with a tour of the state that will bring her to <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Las Cruces<\/st1:city><\/st1:place> on Tuesday.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">She will be holding a public forum from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the New Mexico Farm and <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ranch<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Heritage<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">Museum<\/st1:placetype>, <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=q&amp;hl=en&amp;time=&amp;date=&amp;ttype=&amp;q=4100+Dripping+Springs+Rd,+Las+Cruces,+Dona+Ana,+New+Mexico+88011,+United+States&amp;sll=37.0625,-95.677068&amp;sspn=37.410045,61.171875&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;cd=2&amp;geocode=0,32.296692,-106.722651&amp;ll=32.297163,-106.722651\" target=\"_blank\">4100 Dripping Springs Road<\/a> in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Las   Cruces<\/st1:city><\/st1:place>, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The GOP representative\u2019s \u201cstatewide listening tour\u201d follows a similar tour by GOP U.S. Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peopleforpearce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Steve Pearce<\/a>, who is also running for Senate. <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>\u2019s third representative, Democrat <a href=\"http:\/\/www.udallforusall.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tom Udall<\/a>, is also running for the Senate seat and plans a similar tour in the near future.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Wilson<\/st1:city>\u2019s tour began Sunday in <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Santa Rosa<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>. When it ends Saturday in Grants, she will have covered 19 of the state\u2019s 33 counties and traveled 1,500 miles, according to a news release from her campaign. She\u2019ll be talking with voters about national security, the war on terror, taxes, health care and the economy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI&#8217;m really excited to visit with New Mexicans in all corners of the state,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Wilson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> said in the release. \u201cMy first responsibility as a candidate for the U.S. Senate is to listen to you, to find out your concerns, your priorities, and what is important to you. I look forward to meeting new people though out the state and hearing what&#8217;s on their mind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Wilson<\/st1:city> is in Tucumcari, Portales and <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Roswell<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> today. She\u2019ll be in Ruidoso and <st1:city st=\"on\">Alamogordo<\/st1:city> on Tuesday before stopping in <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Las Cruces<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>. On Wednesday, she\u2019ll stop in Truth or Consequences and Socorro. On Thursday she\u2019ll be in Espa\u00f1ola. On Friday she\u2019ll be in Rio Rancho and <st1:place st=\"on\">Edgewood<\/st1:place>, and on Saturday she\u2019ll be in Quemado and Grants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Wilson<\/st1:city>\u2019s campaign recently received a boost when the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpffa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Mexico Professional Firefighter\u2019s Association\u2019s<\/a> members voted unanimously to endorse her over Pearce in the primary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe have a long-standing relationship with Congresswoman Heather Wilson,\u201d Emily Kane, the association\u2019s president, said in a release sent by <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Wilson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>\u2019s campaign. \u201cHeather has always supported firefighters and public safety issues. The NMPFFA encourages our members and their families to vote for Rep. Wilson in the primary and to volunteer and support her campaign.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI\u2019m honored by this endorsement from <st1:state st=\"on\">New  Mexico<\/st1:state> firefighters and I look forward to working with you during this campaign and in the United States Senate,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Wilson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> said in the news release.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. Rep.
