{"id":2499,"date":"2007-11-07T00:01:00","date_gmt":"2007-11-07T06:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/11\/miyagishima-not-declaring-victory-yet\/"},"modified":"2007-11-07T00:01:00","modified_gmt":"2007-11-07T06:01:00","slug":"miyagishima-not-declaring-victory-yet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/11\/miyagishima-not-declaring-victory-yet\/","title":{"rendered":"Miyagishima not declaring victory yet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">District 6 Councilor <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/10\/miyagishima-wants-slower-growth-better.html\">Ken Miyagishima<\/a>, who defeated Mayor <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/10\/mattiace-wants-to-finish-major.html\">Bill Mattiace<\/a> today by 74 votes, said he\u2019s not ready to declare victory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I\u2019ve already reported that Miyagishima finished with 5,745 votes, or 50.3 percent, to Mattiace\u2019s 5,671 votes, or 49.7 percent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI\u2019d like to see it official, but your numbers, they add up,\u201d Miyagishima said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The City Clerk\u2019s Office has yet to post results from <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Camino<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Real<\/st1:PlaceName>  <st1:placetype st=\"on\">Middle School<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place>, but Miyagishima finished at that polling place with 427 votes to Mattiace\u2019s 384 votes, according to the receipt that was posted on the door of the school. That increases Miyagishima\u2019s lead from the 31-vote lead the city clerk\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/216.161.40.230\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Web site<\/a> currently gives him. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I\u2019ve been unable to reach the clerk\u2019s office for information about what\u2019s holding up the count.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Mattiace refused to comment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>District 6 Councilor Ken Miyagishima, who defeated Mayor Bill Mattiace today by 74 votes, said he\u2019s not ready to declare victory.
