That gives Silva 45 percent, with all votes accounted for.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Silva said he would not declare victory because his campaign was still working on the numbers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe still have to keep 40 percent,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p style=\"font-style: italic;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">A prior version of this posting incorrectly stated that Frietze had 558 votes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Miguel Silva isn\u2019t declaring victory, but my tally has him defeating 12-year incumbent Jos\u00e9 Frietze in the Las Cruces City Council District 1 race.
