That leaves him with about $21,000 on hand to Miyagishima\u2019s $3,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Most of Mattiace\u2019s large contributions came from family members, including one $10,000 gift from a brother-in-law in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Florida<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>. He also had a contribution of $1,195 from Bill and Renee Cupit. Bill Cupit is a well-known builder in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Las Cruces<\/st1:city><\/st1:place>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Miyagishima has financed almost half of his campaign through personal contributions and loans and in-kind contributions from his insurance business. He had a $1,000 contribution from the Cupits and a $500 contribution from <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Las Cruces<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> developer Edgar Lopez\u2019s Investment Management Associates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Frietze has been <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/10\/frietze-asks-for-dismissal-of-ethics.html\">under scrutiny<\/a> for his relationship to developer Philip Philippou. Remember the <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/04\/lyons-urges-city-approval-of-east-mesa.html\">State Land Office controversy<\/a> that surrounded The Vistas at Presidio in May? It\u2019s worth noting that Frietze had a $500 contribution from lobbyist Domonic Silva and a $200 contribution from lobbyist David Kimble. Both work for Philippou.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In addition, he had a $100 contribution from Assistant State Land Commissioner Jerry King.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/10\/guerra-announces-city-council-run.html\">Conrad Guerra<\/a> has raised and spent almost $1,800, and all but $150 he contributed himself. <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/local-activist-to-challenge-frietze-in.html\">Ron Gurley<\/a> has raised and spent $2,100, and has financed his entire campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/former-county-commissioner-to-challenge.html\">Miguel Silva<\/a> has raised about $5,700 and spent almost $4,200. All her contributions but one \u2013 a $500 contribution from Bea and Carl Connor \u2013 were for $250 or less, and for those who care about partisan politics in a non-partisan race, Connor has an bipartisan list of big-name financial supporters from around Las Cruces.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Her challenger, <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/08\/former-school-board-member-to-challenge.html\">Vince Boudreau<\/a>, raised almost $7,400 and spent almost $2,400. Since he grew up in Los Lunas, it\u2019s not surprising that many of his contributions are from people living in the <st1:city st=\"on\">Albuquerque<\/st1:city> area, but he also had a number of contributions from the <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Las Cruces<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> area. Conservation Voters of New Mexico gave him $1,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/08\/chavez-announces-run-for-city-council.html\">Isaac Chavez<\/a> raised just under $7,000 and spent just over $5,000. He did not accept a cash contribution of more than $250, but he had in-kind contributions, each less than $500, from Citizen\u2019s Bank, Borman Autoplex and La Posta. Each helped pay for a Chavez billboard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/montao-announces-run-for-city-council.html\">Steve Monta\u00f1o<\/a> raised just under $5,300 and spent just over $4,200. He had a $500 contribution from Lopez\u2019s company and an in-kind contribution of $107.13 from Lt. Gov. Diane Denish\u2019s campaign for an ad on this site.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Read the District 4 finance reports by clicking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.haussamen.com\/District4financereports.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:130%;\">Presiding municipal judge<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In the <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/10\/longstanding-dispute-colors-municipal.html\">presiding municipal judge race<\/a>, incumbent <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/miller-byrnes-is-apparently-seeking-re.html\">Melissa Miller-Byrnes<\/a> has financed her campaign almost entirely herself, at least to this point, receiving $1,750 in contributions and having in-kind donations from herself of more than $18,700. Her expenses have totaled just over $19,100. She had a $250 contribution from Lopez\u2019s company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Her challenger, <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/former-cop-magistrate-to-run-for.html\">Conrad Perea<\/a>, has raised just over $6,000 and spent just over $5,500.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Read the municipal judge finance reports by clicking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.haussamen.com\/Municipaljudgefinancereports.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In case you\u2019re wondering, final finance reports aren\u2019t due until Dec. 6, so this is all we\u2019ll know before the Nov. 6 election.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Update, 5:25 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I noticed that Small had a great deal of financial support from the <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Albuquerque<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> area and from out of state.
