Valentine, announced that he\u2019s retiring on the first day of 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Both vacancies will be filled by Gov.-elect <a href=\"http:\/\/www.martineztransition.com\">Susana Martinez<\/a>, based on recommendations from a judicial nominating commission. The commission was already in place to nominate candidates to replace Valentine, but now it will consider candidates to replace both judges, according to a news release.<\/p>\n<p>The commission meets Jan. 13 in Las Cruces.
