The spokeswoman for the Santa Fe developer says he didn’t seriously start soliciting donations until after Labor Day, so most of his cash was raised in three weeks, not three months.

Wiviott began the campaign at the end of the second quarter of the year with $400,000 of his own money. He raised $130,083 during the third quarter, bringing the total contributed to his campaign to about $535,000 – including the money he gave. Wiviott has spent about $160,000.
