There is something awesome about the ability to be frank.\u00a0And I do mean to call it an\u00a0ability – it’s the art of\u00a0being \u00a0brutally honest without coming across as looking like a scathing twit.<\/p>\n

Case in point – Barbara Bush.<\/p>\n

In an interview with CNN’s Larry King scheduled for airing (tonight), Mrs. Bush\u00a0(said) she sat next to Palin once and “thought she was beautiful.”\u00a0The outspoken wife of former President George H.W. Bush\u00a0(said) Palin, who is considering a presidential run in 2012, seems “very happy in Alaska” but then adds, “I hope she’ll stay there.”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well, there you go. She said it.\u00a0Sarah Palin should steer clear of a presidential bid.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In\u00a0the spirit of being frank – thank you, Barbara Bush, and I could not agree more.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Why?\u00a0 Well, let’s just\u00a0start by stating\u00a0the obvious.\u00a0<\/p>\n

  1. It’s hard to swallow the\u00a0 thought of the latest reality-show-turned-star as the next president of the United States.\u00a0(True, Palin for President<\/em> is a much better option\u00a0than Snookie for President, <\/em>but you get my drift.\u00a0True, both Palin and Snookie have newly-released books out. But, still, it\u00a0sets a warped\u00a0precedent.)<\/li>\n
  2. The presidency is (or should be) about “executive” experience. If\u00a0 you truly want to be president, then why\u00a0dump\u00a0your governorship?\u00a0 That’s about as executive as executive gets.\u00a0And, so, why\u00a0abandon the one,\u00a0legitimate qualifier that you have in your back pocket?<\/li>\n
  3. Continuing on this point – people elect\u00a0candidates\u00a0because they\u00a0are choosing to rely\u00a0upon that candidate.\u00a0Surrendering what you\u00a0were voted in to finish does not spell winner to me.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  4. While a strong center-right, business-minded female (with\u00a0“executive” experience) would be a stellar addition to the\u00a0roster of 2012 GOP-hopefuls, we have yet to see such a candidate rise. Being female does not automatically qualify\u00a0a person\u00a0for president.<\/li>\n
  5. Ego is great and beauty is good, but wisdom and true-and-tried experience are greater.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Go ahead, attack me.\u00a0If I could eqaute this to pleading the 5th, then I would plead with Barbara Bush.<\/p>\n
