He retired in\u00a0New Mexico and joined the staff at the Do\u00f1a Ana County Clerk&#8217;s Office in 2006 as elections supervisor after serving on a task force aimed at helping <a href=\"http:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2006\/09\/county-elections-bureau-improving-ellins-says\/\" target=\"_blank\">improve the integrity of elections<\/a>. He was elected clerk in 2008 and re-elected in 2012. Term limits prohibited him from running again this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople respect Lynn for his integrity, intelligence and institutional knowledge,\u201d Krahling said. \u201cTogether, we managed the most successful election in Do\u00f1a Ana County\u2019s history.\u00a0 The future of the office remains in competent hands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ellins hired\u00a0Krahling, a former county commissioner and a Democrat, to be the office\u2019s elections supervisor in 2013. Krahling became chief deputy clerk\u00a0in 2014. He defeated Republican Maria E. Candidate filing date for the school board elections is Dec.\u00a020, and the registration deadline is Jan. 10. Early voting begins Jan. 13 at the Do\u00f1a Ana County Government Center.<\/p>\n<p>Winners in the county from the Nov. 8 election, including Krahling, will be sworn in at a Dec. 29 ceremony in the Commission Chambers at\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Dona+Ana+County+Government+Center\/@32.3057319,-106.8178941,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x86de3de2e89ff8cf:0xf50e197fcbcaeea1!8m2!3d32.3057274!4d-106.8157054\" target=\"_blank\">Do\u00f1a Ana County Government Center<\/a>. Chief Third Judicial District Judge Fernando Macias will administer\u00a0the oaths of office.
