But Park, D-Albuquerque, said he sees the open seat being vacated by U.S. Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/wilson.house.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Heather Wilson<\/a>, who will announce today that she\u2019s running for Senate, as a \u201cpolitical opportunity of a lifetime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Park said he hopes to make a decision in the next couple of weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI\u2019m actively considering my options,\u201d he said. \u201cIf this is another way I can serve the people of <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:state st=\"on\">New   Mexico<\/st1:state><\/st1:place>, I feel obliged to consider it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">As chair of the powerful state House Judiciary Committee, Park is an influential member of a group of House Democrats who often work with Republicans to find compromise on issues and bypass the will of Speaker <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=204\" target=\"_blank\">Ben Lujan<\/a>. Park supported Majority Leader <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=210\" target=\"_blank\">Ken Martinez\u2019s<\/a> failed attempt to unseat Lujan last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Albuquerque<\/st1:city><\/st1:place> attorney <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jonadamsforcongress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jon Adams<\/a> is also in the congressional race, and a number of other Democrats are considering running.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>State Rep.
