His third-quarter report must be filed publicly by Oct. 15.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Wiviott, a <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Santa Fe<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> developer, already committed $400,000 of his own money to the race and, during the last three months, raised about $60,000 through the Democratic fundraising Web site <a href=\"http:\/\/www.actblue.com\/entity\/fundraisers\/18140\" target=\"_blank\">ActBlue<\/a>, which discloses such totals publicly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe remain committed to moving forward in this race,\u201d Wiviott said. \u201cThe issues remain the same. When no one else was willing to get up and go against Pete, we were committed, and we remain committed now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The possibility of other, more prominent Democrats jumping into the race, Wiviott said, is \u201ccertainly no more daunting than running against Domenici.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe jumped in early, we got committed and we got set up,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ve never backed out of a fight, and I won\u2019t do it now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Domenici\u2019s retirement, Wiviott said, is \u201ca seismic shift for the agenda that we\u2019re putting forward. What this means is that we have a much better shot of ending the war\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The other Democrats who have said they\u2019re in the race are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jimhannan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jim Hannan<\/a> of <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Santa Fe<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mothermedia.org\/2008platform.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Leland Lehrman<\/a> of Lamy, but Lehrman has not filed a formal declaration of his candidacy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Don Wiviott, one of three Democrats who had jumped into the race against U.S. Sen.
