The notification was probably not made until Tuesday, which would give the governor until Oct. 24 to make the appointment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cThe governor will be carefully considering all the nominees and has 30 days to make the appointment per the Constitution,\u201d spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said, adding that the appointment could come in mid-October.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The commission recommended three judges and four attorneys, including Robert E. Robles, chief judge of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thirddistrictcourt.com\/geninfo.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Third Judicial District Court<\/a> in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place>. The others are <st1:city st=\"on\">Albuquerque<\/st1:city> criminal defense attorney Charles W. Daniels, state General Services Secretary Arturo L. Jaramillo, <st1:city st=\"on\">Albuquerque<\/st1:city> lawyer Edward R. Ricco, <st1:city st=\"on\">Albuquerque<\/st1:city> lawyer Maureen A. Sanders, Judge Linda M. Vanzi of the Second Judicial District Court in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Bernalillo<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:place> and Court of Appeals Judge Michael E. Vigil.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The candidates must be interviewed before the governor can make an appointment. <st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> won\u2019t be back in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> until Sunday as he wraps up the third quarter of the year with a strong fundraising push. He plans to spend Monday and part of Tuesday in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> before leaving the state for the rest of the week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> will be in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> for part of the second week of October, sources confirmed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lcsun-news.com\/news\/ci_6999346\" target=\"_blank\">Las Cruces Sun-News<\/a> explored today the possibility that Lt. Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ltgovernor.state.nm.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Diane Denish<\/a> will aid <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> in the selection process. Denish told the newspaper that, while the governor is still making appointments, she has conducted some of the interviews with recent applicants for state positions in <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>\u2019s absence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">If the governor doesn\u2019t like his choices, he can ask the commission to reconvene \u2013 once \u2013 to consider whether to forward the names of any of the other eight applicants for his consideration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The vacancy was created last month by the death of Justice <a href=\"http:\/\/nmsupremecourt.nmcourts.gov\/about\/justices\/bios\/minzner.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Pamela B.
