Mercurio<\/a> and District 6 Councilor <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/08\/miyagishima-announces-candidacy-for.html\">Ken Miyagishima<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Those who filed to run for City Council District 1 are incumbent <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/frietze-to-seek-fourth-term-on-city.html\">Jos\u00e9 V. Frietze<\/a>, political newcomer Conrado M. Guerra, activist <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/local-activist-to-challenge-frietze-in.html\">Ron M. Gurley<\/a> and former Do\u00f1a Ana County Commissioner <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/former-county-commissioner-to-challenge.html\">Miguel G. Silva<\/a>. Guerra had not previously announced his candidacy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Those who filed to run for City Council District 2 are incumbent <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/08\/connor-announces-re-election-bid.html\">Dolores Connor<\/a> and former Las Cruces Public Schools Board of Education member <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/08\/former-school-board-member-to-challenge.html\">Vince Boudreau<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Those for filed to run for City Council District 4 are <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/08\/chavez-announces-run-for-city-council.html\">Isaac Chavez<\/a>, a local businessman who ran unsuccessfully against state Rep. Andy Nu\u00f1ez last year; <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/montao-announces-run-for-city-council.html\">Steve Monta\u00f1o<\/a>, who runs the Las Cruces office of the state\u2019s Economic Development Department; and <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/small-joins-race-for-open-city-council.html\">Nathan Small<\/a>, a member of the county\u2019s Planning and Zoning Commission and an employee of the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Those who filed to run for presiding municipal court judge are incumbent <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/miller-byrnes-is-apparently-seeking-re.html\">Melissa Miller-Byrnes<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/former-cop-magistrate-to-run-for.html\">Conrad F.
