Locatelli<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A Las Cruces municipal judge has been suspended without pay after he threatened an employee for cooperating with an investigation into the judge\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lcsun-news.com\/las_cruces-news\/ci_16413056\">Las Cruces Sun-News<\/a> has the scoop:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cJames T. Locatelli allegedly became \u2018outraged\u2019 and admitted to threatening \u2018bodily injury\u2019 on Las Cruces Municipal Court judicial manager Lisa Almaguer for her cooperation with pending investigations against Locatelli by the state\u2019s Judicial Standards Commission, according to the commission\u2019s petition for suspension.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLocatelli \u2018admitted to staff that he knew battering Ms. Almaguer would be wrong, and that he would probably spend time in jail for this crime, but spending time in jail \u2018would be worth it,\u2019\u2019 the petition states.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn response, the Municipal Court had to change the lock on the outside courthouse door adjacent to Almaguer\u2019s office to keep Locatelli out, according to the petition.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Locatelli is under investigation, according to the Sun-News, for allegations that he improperly dismissed traffic citations for a friend and related allegations. According to the Sun-News, Locatelli also dismissed several cases out of court for family members of his bailiff.
