{"id":2224,"date":"2007-09-11T17:06:00","date_gmt":"2007-09-11T23:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/09\/new-polls-confirm-richardson-campaigns-stagnation\/"},"modified":"2007-09-11T17:06:00","modified_gmt":"2007-09-11T23:06:00","slug":"new-polls-confirm-richardson-campaigns-stagnation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/09\/new-polls-confirm-richardson-campaigns-stagnation\/","title":{"rendered":"New polls confirm Richardson campaign&#8217;s stagnation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/Rucfy_sLibI\/AAAAAAAADWo\/gncDJeF63k0\/s1600-h\/Richardsonforpresident.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/Rucfy_sLibI\/AAAAAAAADWo\/gncDJeF63k0\/s200\/Richardsonforpresident.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5109087263225776562\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>New polls of three early primary states further confirm what has become apparent in recent weeks: Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.richardsonforpresident.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Richardson\u2019s<\/a> presidential campaign has stagnated.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">He hasn\u2019t had any significant movement in polls in <st1:state st=\"on\">New Hampshire<\/st1:state> since June and <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Iowa<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> since July. <st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> is betting on those two states and <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Nevada<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> to propel him to victory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Now the <a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/washington\/2007\/09\/breaking-news-n.html\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Times<\/a> is reporting the results of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/media\/acrobat\/2007-09\/32481597.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">three new polls<\/a> conducted for the newspaper and the news service Bloomberg. <st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> is at 10 percent in <st1:state st=\"on\">Iowa<\/st1:state>, 8 percent in <st1:state st=\"on\">New Hampshire<\/st1:state> and 1 percent in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">South Carolina<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>, according to the new polls.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Average of recent polls in those states, done by the site <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Real Clear Politics<\/a>, have Richardson at 11.6 percent in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/epolls\/2008\/president\/ia\/iowa_democratic_caucus-208.html\" target=\"_blank\">Iowa<\/a>, 9 percent in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/epolls\/2008\/president\/nh\/new_hampshire_democratic_primary-194.html\" target=\"_blank\">New Hampshire<\/a> and 1.8 percent in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/epolls\/2008\/president\/sc\/south_carolina_democratic_primary-234.html\" target=\"_blank\">South Carolina<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The new <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Iowa<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> poll had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hillaryclinton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hillary Clinton<\/a> in the lead with 28 percent to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnedwards.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">John Edwards\u2019<\/a> 23 percent and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Barack Obama\u2019s<\/a> 19 percent. In the <st1:state st=\"on\">New Hampshire<\/st1:state> poll, <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> had 35 percent, while Edwards and Obama were both at 16 percent. In the <st1:state st=\"on\">South  Carolina<\/st1:state> poll, <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> had 45 percent, Obama had 27 percent and Edwards had 7 percent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The polls were conducted Thursday through Monday and have a margin of error of between 4 and 5 percent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Before these polls were released, I\u2019d already written my column that will be published in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abqtrib.com\/staff\/heath-haussamen\/\" target=\"_blank\">Albuquerque Tribune<\/a> tomorrow about the fact that <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city><\/st1:place>\u2019s campaign is stagnating. I will also publish the column on this site.
