For years, NMPolitics.net has interviewed and profiled statewide candidates who wanted to take the time to do it while they were in Las Cruces. And for some time, the site has been accepting guest columns from candidates.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m writing to remind you that both offers are open to candidates from any party, and those with no party affiliation.<\/p>\n

Candidates for statewide offices, Congress and the Public Regulation Commission \u2013 if you are coming to Las Cruces and want to devote 45-60 minutes to an interview, I\u2019ll profile you if we can work out a time to conduct an interview. You\u2019ll have a chance to talk about your campaign platform and I\u2019ll have a chance to ask you some questions.<\/p>\n

All candidates \u2013 I\u2019m open to guest columns from any of you. Columns must be factual and should in general be more policy-based than political-based (but can certainly delve into the political as well). I\u2019m open to other ideas if you have them. Ask me.<\/p>\n

As for length, I generally say if a column is shorter than 500 words it probably doesn\u2019t have enough substance to be worth readers\u2019 time, and if it\u2019s more than 1,000 or 1,100 words, most people won\u2019t read it. But I have personally broken that general guideline on both sides. Say what you have to say.<\/p>\n

Columns need to come with a 1-2 sentence bio (it can be as simple as \u201cDiane Denish is the Democratic candidate for governor.\u201d) and a photo of you.<\/p>\n
