Perea is the newest magistrate judge in Do\u00f1a Ana County.<\/p>\n<p>Perea was appointed Tuesday by Gov. Bill Richardson, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lcsun-news.com\/las_cruces-news\/ci_16017562\">Las Cruces Sun-News<\/a>. Perea replaces Joseph Guillory, an embattled judge who was disciplined by the Supreme Court in January and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/08\/embattled-magistrate-judge-resigns\/\">resigned in August<\/a> rather than defend himself from new allegations being brought forth.<\/p>\n<p>Perea was a magistrate judge from 1999-2000 and has filled in for other judges more recently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConrad Perea has a vast experience with the magistrate court, including hundreds of hours volunteering and training court clerks,\u201d the Sun-News quoted Richardson as saying. \u201cHis experience will serve him well as he takes on this responsibility in this busy court.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Conrad F.
