She appealed to the board, which denied her request in January, leading to the arbitration. It won\u2019t end with her getting her job back, but could result in a monetary settlement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Diaz is now the associate superintendent of curriculum and instruction for the <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Baltimore<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placetype st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:place> schools, one of the largest districts in the nation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former Las Cruces Public Schools Superintendent Sonia Diaz\u2019s arbitration talks with the district ended Thursday with the arbitrator saying he\u2019ll issue a decision within six weeks.
