It was delayed because of a Thursday explosion that killed three people working on a rocket Virgin Galactic plans to use to fly paying customers into space from <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>. Though initial renderings are complete, they aren\u2019t being released until the news conference can be rescheduled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">So all we get for now is a quote about their concept.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cThe URS\/Foster team presented us with a concept that blends sensitivity to the environment, cutting-edge technology and a stunning image and shape when viewed from high above,\u201d Kelly O\u2019Donnell, chair of the spaceport authority, said in a news release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">URS Corp. is a prominent firm that works in 20 nations. Foster + Partners has extensive experience in designing airport buildings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe are absolutely thrilled to be part of the dynamic team chosen to design the world\u2019s<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">first space terminal,\u201d said Foster + Partners founder Norman Foster. \u201cThis technically complex building will not only provide a dramatic experience for the astronauts and visitors, but will set an ecologically sound model for future spaceport facilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The state will now negotiate a contract with the two firms.
