The ad, which began airing today in Iowa, shows a comfortably dressed Richardson talking about how New Mexico, Iowa and every other state has lost \u201ctoo many soldiers\u201d in Iraq.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe have to end this war now,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> says in the ad. \u201c\u2026 Our troops have done everything we\u2019ve asked, and I don\u2019t want to see any more die.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe need to get all of our troops out of <st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Iraq<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>. George Bush won\u2019t do that, but I will,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> says at the end of the ad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In the ad, <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> also urges Congress to act.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The digs at Bush and Congress and the New <st1:country-region st=\"on\">Mexico<\/st1:country-region> setting emphasize the point <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> wants to convey: As a governor, he has dealt with the tragedy of the war in a more tangible way than his opponents. He wants voters who are touched by the tragedy to believe he can relate to them on a deeper level than can the other Democrats seeking the party\u2019s presidential nomination.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In the ad, <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>\u2019s speech is natural and appears heartfelt. The ad will touch voters who are concerned about the war and will likely give <st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> positive results in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Iowa<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cGovernor Richardson knows all too well the pain of the families of fallen soldiers and the human toll the war is taking on our communities and our country. The Governor\u2019s own state of <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> has lost 31 soldiers. <st1:state st=\"on\">Iowa<\/st1:state> has lost 45 soldiers,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> campaign manager Dave Contarino said in a news release. \u201cCongress must stand up to a president who has put our brave military men and women in an impossible situation refereeing a civil war. Our troops are targets, viewed as occupiers. If George Bush doesn\u2019t get them out, as president, Bill Richardson will.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The ad follows those clever <a href=\"http:\/\/action.richardsonforpresident.com\/page\/content\/askedyou\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cjob interview\u201d<\/a> ads that earned national attention and resulted in <st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> gains in polls in <st1:state st=\"on\">Iowa<\/st1:state> and <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Hampshire<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>. The company producing <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>\u2019s ads, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mpsmedia.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Murphy Putnam Media<\/a>, is doing an excellent job.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Here\u2019s the new ad.
