Voter turnout has been sky high this week in the state’s two largest counties, Bernalillo and Do\u00f1a Ana — but it’s especially impressive in the southern border county.<\/p>\n

Voting continues through Election Day, which is Nov. 8.<\/p><\/div>\n

As of Thursday, 3,265 people had cast ballots in Do\u00f1a Ana County, Chief Deputy Clerk Scott Krahling posted on Facebook<\/a>. He said that’s\u00a0the most votes in any county in the state since early voting began Tuesday. It\u00a0even tops\u00a0Bernalillo County, which has more than three times as many residents<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Still, Bernalillo County’s numbers were also impressive. The county clerk there, Maggie Toulouse Oliver, said 1,996 people had\u00a0voted as of Thursday. That’s more than twice the number of voters in Bernalillo County at that\u00a0point in the last presidential election in 2012, she said.<\/p>\n

“I think interest in the presidential race has people highly motivated,” Oliver said.<\/p>\n
