Do\u00f1a Ana County has a new elections supervisor.<\/p>\n

Trey LeFluer has been a temporary employee in the county\u2019s elections bureau since March 18. He was instrumental in the success of the June 1 primary, County Clerk Lynn Ellins<\/a> said in a news release, so he\u2019s promoted LeFluer to elections supervisor.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has been assigned several special projects, all of which he has performed with great competence,\u201d Ellins wrote in an e-mail to his staff announcing the promotion. He added that LeFluer\u2019s appointment has been welcomed by the entire staff.<\/p>\n

A 2009 graduate of New Mexico State University, LeFleur holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in government. He is a 2005 graduate of Las Cruces High School.<\/p>\n

Prior to working for the county, LeFleur was a field organizer for the Democratic Party of New Mexico, supervising up to 100 volunteers in Hidalgo, Grant and Luna counties. In 2010, he managed the successful election campaign of Nora Barraza, the new mayor of the Town of Mesilla.<\/p>\n

While at NMSU, he was employed by MobileCampus,\u00a0an arm of the university\u2019s student council, as an enrollment team supervisor heading up a staff of 12.<\/p>\n

LeFleur will earn $27,414 annually, the news release states.<\/p>\n

The position has been vacant since early May, when the county parted ways<\/a> with Bob Bartelsmeyer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
