The White House set the Big Dogs loose this morning on the Sunday shows.<\/p>\n
First, Senior Adviser David Axelrod had a trinity showing this morning on:\u00a0ABC\u2019s \u201cThis Week,<\/strong>\u201d CNN’s “State of the Union<\/strong>” and \u201cFox News Sunday<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n Secondly, and no-less importantly, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs spent the morning on NBC\u2019s \u201cMeet the Press.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n Is this a sign of desperation or strength? You tell me.<\/p>\n The intention is not to over-analyze or editorialize today. I am just going to leave you with the quotes that made me think \u201cinteresting\u201d or \u201cdid he really just say that\u201d or \u201ccan I hold you to that?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s surprising that Americans are frustrated after losing eight-and-a-half million jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere is no doubt that things are getting better\u2026 there\u2019s no doubt we are on the right path.\u201d (NBC)<\/p>\n \u201cThe car is out on the ditch, the car is back on the road. The question is, are you going to give the keys back to the Republicans?\u201d (NBC)<\/p>\n \u201cLook, the president is frustrated that he hasn\u2019t seen greater recovery efforts.\u201d (NBC)<\/p>\n \u201cThe president is not going to, in a time of economic crisis, raise taxes.\u201d (NBC)<\/p>\n \u201cWe have better relationship with virtually every country in this world as a result of this president. There is no doubt that we have taken foreign policy in a different direction.\u201d (NBC)<\/p>\n \u201cThere is not a great desire\u2026 Even though there is some argument for additional spending<\/em> in the short-run to continue to generate economic activity\u2026 there is not a great appetite for it.\u201d (ABC)<\/p>\n \u201cBut Jake, we are still in the midst of a very difficult economic time.
