{"id":1852,"date":"2007-06-13T15:53:00","date_gmt":"2007-06-13T21:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/06\/abq-updates-lobbyist-site-for-first-time-in-three-years\/"},"modified":"2007-06-13T15:53:00","modified_gmt":"2007-06-13T21:53:00","slug":"abq-updates-lobbyist-site-for-first-time-in-three-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/06\/abq-updates-lobbyist-site-for-first-time-in-three-years\/","title":{"rendered":"ABQ updates lobbyist site for first time in three years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/RnBnn9ANN_I\/AAAAAAAACmI\/4iKeudn_G90\/s1600-h\/Chavez,+Martin.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/RnBnn9ANN_I\/AAAAAAAACmI\/4iKeudn_G90\/s200\/Chavez,+Martin.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5075670716134537202\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Before today, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cabq.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">City of Albuquerque<\/a> had not been updating its lobbyist database on its Web site for three years, in violation of a city ordinance that required such action.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">As of today, the list is updated and will be kept current, Mayor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cabq.gov\/mayor\/\" target=\"_blank\">Martin Ch\u00e1vez<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">After receiving a tip, I spoke with Ch\u00e1vez on Tuesday to inquire about whether the Web site had to be updated and to tell him it hadn\u2019t been updated since 2004. He said he didn\u2019t know what was required, and put me on the phone with the assistant city clerk, who told me there was no requirement to keep the information current on the Web site.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">She also told me the clerk\u2019s office was in the process of updating the Web site, and hoped to have current lobbyist registration information on it by the end of the week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">So I looked up the city\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cabq.gov\/clerk\/lobbyregister.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lobbyist Registration Ordinance<\/a>, which states that \u201call such reports filed with the city clerk shall be listed on the city\u2019s website within one week of submission and will be periodically updated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I called Ch\u00e1vez back to share that with him. He checked on it, and told me I was \u201cabsolutely right.\u201d He said the site would be updated by the end of the week and will be kept current.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Today, it was updated.
