{"id":18274,"date":"2010-06-06T21:18:57","date_gmt":"2010-06-07T03:18:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=18274"},"modified":"2010-06-06T21:18:58","modified_gmt":"2010-06-07T03:18:58","slug":"another-poll-finds-close-gubernatorial-race","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/06\/another-poll-finds-close-gubernatorial-race\/","title":{"rendered":"Another poll finds close gubernatorial race"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_18240\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 300px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18240\" title=\"Martinez, Denish\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Martinez-Denish.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"221\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Susana Martinez (left, courtesy photo) and Diane Denish (Photo by Heath Haussamen)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A new poll out Friday found Republican <a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanamartinez2010.com\/\">Susana Martinez<\/a> with a two-point lead over Democrat <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dianedenish.com\/\">Diane Denish<\/a> in the gubernatorial race.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/public_content\/politics\/elections\/election_2010\/election_2010_governor_elections\/new_mexico\/election_2010_new_mexico_governor\">Rasmussen Reports poll<\/a> had Martinez leading 44 percent to 42 percent, with 14 percent undecided or preferring other candidates.<\/p>\n<p>The survey of 500 likely voters was conducted Thursday and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.<\/p>\n<p>Last month\u2019s Rasmussen Reports poll had Denish up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/05\/gop-gubernatorial-debate-won%E2%80%99t-change-much\/\">43 percent to 42 percent<\/a>. Also last month, a SurveyUSA poll had Martinez leading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/05\/martinez-leading-weh-and-denish-in-new-polls\/\">49 percent to 43 percent<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Denish was viewed favorably by 24 percent of those surveyed in the newest poll and unfavorably by 21 percent.
