{"id":1731,"date":"2007-05-16T14:33:00","date_gmt":"2007-05-16T20:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/05\/richardson-gains-in-ohio-still-below-margin-of-error\/"},"modified":"2007-05-16T14:33:00","modified_gmt":"2007-05-16T20:33:00","slug":"richardson-gains-in-ohio-still-below-margin-of-error","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/05\/richardson-gains-in-ohio-still-below-margin-of-error\/","title":{"rendered":"Richardson gains in Ohio, still below margin of error"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/Rktq34rd2TI\/AAAAAAAACU4\/t9fEUCMsn2A\/s1600-h\/Richardsonforpresident.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/Rktq34rd2TI\/AAAAAAAACU4\/t9fEUCMsn2A\/s200\/Richardsonforpresident.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5065259714248300850\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>It seems like I\u2019ve been writing a lot lately about Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.richardsonforpresident.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Richardson<\/a> climbing, albeit slowly, in a number of Democratic presidential nominee polls across the nation.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">There\u2019s another.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The newest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quinnipiac.edu\/x1322.xml?ReleaseID=1064\" target=\"_blank\">Quinnipiac University poll<\/a> has <st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> at two percent in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Ohio<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>, which puts him tied for fifth place in the poll that includes <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Al_gore\" target=\"_blank\">Al Gore<\/a>, who isn\u2019t running for president.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">That\u2019s a climb in the eight weeks since the school\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quinnipiac.edu\/x1322.xml?ReleaseID=1029\" target=\"_blank\">last poll<\/a> put <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> at 1 percent in March.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Interestingly, the newest poll found support for <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> at 4 percent among men and less than 1 percent among women. I\u2019ll let you decide what that means. I haven\u2019t seen any data to indicate whether that\u2019s a trend across the nation, but I\u2019ll be looking for it in the future.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The newest poll had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hillaryclinton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hillary Clinton<\/a> at 38 percent, up from 32 percent in March, so she\u2019s continuing to climb. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Barack Obama<\/a> came in second at 19 percent, down from 22 percent in March. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnedwards.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">John Edwards<\/a> was third with 11 percent, which was no change from March.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Gore came in fourth at 10 percent, down from 14 percent in March, and Ohio Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/kucinich.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dennis Kucinich<\/a> tied <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> at 2 percent, which is down from 3 percent in March.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">You\u2019d think Kucinich would do better in his home state. <st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> will certainly do better in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The newest poll was conducted May 8 to 13. It surveyed 353 Ohio Democrats and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">It places <st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> still well below the margin of error in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Ohio<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>, but is further evidence that he\u2019s gaining some attention. <st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> has climbed some in polls across the nation in recent weeks, and even climbed above the margin of error in <st1:state st=\"on\">Nevada<\/st1:state> and <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Iowa<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>. As I\u2019ve said before, however, <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> is climbing faster than anyone else.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It seems like I\u2019ve been writing a lot lately about Gov.
