She was Mexican,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> said. \u201cMy father, he wouldn\u2019t speak to me, but when he did, he would speak English. It was totally a bilingual background.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> also made fun of his weight after Leno showed a photograph of him as a high-school pitcher.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cThat was a few pounds ago,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">And the governor interrupted Leno when he said all the Democratic candidates flew to a recent debate in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">South Carolina<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> in private jets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI took, I think it was Southwest, because I couldn\u2019t fit in the seat,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> said. \u201cBut I took commercial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">That also drew laughter from Leno.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Leno was gracious with <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>, calling him \u201cthe most qualified presidential candidate you have never heard of\u201d and letting him go on at length about his credentials and negotiating with Saddam Hussein in the mid-1990s.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">It was one of the more subdued appearances on Leno\u2019s show.
