{"id":16439,"date":"2010-04-25T22:50:23","date_gmt":"2010-04-26T04:50:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=16439"},"modified":"2010-04-25T22:50:24","modified_gmt":"2010-04-26T04:50:24","slug":"campos-wins-non-scientific-poll-on-democratic-lt-guv%e2%80%99s-race","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/04\/campos-wins-non-scientific-poll-on-democratic-lt-guv%e2%80%99s-race\/","title":{"rendered":"Campos wins non-scientific poll on Democratic lt. guv\u2019s race"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_16257\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 120px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-16257\" title=\"Campos, Jose\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/Campos-Jose.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Joe Campos<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/joecampos.org\/\">Joe Campos<\/a> won last week\u2019s non-scientific poll on this site asking who will win the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor.<\/p>\n<p>Of 2,474 votes \u2013 which I think is the most ever cast in a non-scientific poll on this site \u2013 Campos had 1,038, or 42 percent; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.electcolon.com\/\">Brian Col\u00f3n<\/a> had 807, or 33 percent; <a href=\"http:\/\/jerryfornewmexico.com\/\">Jerry Ortiz y Pino<\/a> had 305, or 12 percent; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rael2010.org\/\">Lawrence Rael<\/a> had 244, or 10 percent; and <a href=\"http:\/\/votelindalopez.com\/default.aspx\">Linda Lopez<\/a> had 80, or 3 percent.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s worth noting that I saw e-mails and\/or Facebook messages from Campos, Col\u00f3n and Rael asking supporters to vote in the poll. Campos\u2019 e-mail stated this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cRemember that this poll is non-scientific so you can vote as many times you want as long as you vote from different computers.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>To which I replied with two not-so-happy messages on Twitter and Facebook (<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/haussamen\/status\/12477932678\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/haussamen\/status\/12478006416\">here<\/a>). Organizing supporters is one thing, but I don\u2019t particularly like when campaigns try to manipulate this site\u2019s non-scientific polls.<\/p>\n<p>For what it\u2019s worth, Campos\u2019 campaign manager then sent me an e-mail saying his campaign intended with that message only to tell couples that they \u201ccould not each vote from the same computer.\u201d He also conceded that the message was \u201cpoorly conveyed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Campos\u2019 campaign later put up a message on Facebook urging supporters to vote only once in the poll.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joe Campos won last week\u2019s non-scientific poll on this site asking who will win the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor.
